Spin, Spin, Spin, like your party depends on it… because it does.
When your party is clinging to what a late night talk show host says… you’re screwed. When you make overblown statements about a joke a late night comedian said… you’re screwed. Honestly, David Letterman made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her family, and where they might have been in poor taste, they were funny. But here’s the thing, they beat a moral drum about an immoral daughter.
Like the t-Shirt says.., Sarah Palin is not all there. Here’s the greatest twist, spin of them all. She went on the today show and talked about how Barack Obama on the campaign trail said “family is off limits”. Which is true, but the thing she seems to forgot was he was saying that about her family and not his. It was right around the time the story was breaking the the Palin’s oldest daughter had sex with a hockey puck and her lamp was lit (for those of you that don’t get the hockey reference… she was pregnant). So Barack Obama did the right thing and made a public proclamation - FAMILY IS OFF LIMITS. But this dumb ass went on national TV and said that he made these statements about is own children - FALSE!
Now the Palin’s are painting David Letterman to be some sort of child molester. Talk about bringing a knife to a gun fight. How are you going to keep this argument moving forward, you don’t have access to a Network like Letterman does - what do you think you’ll gain? Look I get it, if someone said something like that about my family I’d be pissed off too. I completely understand that. After it’s not the kids that are in the public eye it’s the parents, so Letterman’s comments were off base (funny, but off base). But to try and turn this whole thing around and pain this guy into a child raping demon… C’mon.
So when I say that the Republican party is hurtin’ for certain, I mean they are wasting right in front of us. When your party leaders are Newt Gingrich, Dick Cheney, Rush Limbaugh and Caribou Barbie you’ve got to start putting your sights o 2016. Because by 1012 you’ll still have nothing and I hope and I pray for Palin to be leading that ticket, because that my friends would turn this entire country blue - what the hell is up with that?
I honestly couldn't find one t-shirt proclaiming the same for Obama.
