Man, Musician, Brother, Son, Father.
So the King of Pop is gone. A strange and odd life he lived. Quite possibly of the best performers known to mankind. But regardless of what you think of Michael Jackson, he left a legacy, he left a family and he left behind a huge legion of fans.

The photo above was taken from LIFE Magazine. I posted that photo because it most represents the who I feel Michael Jackson was - the King of Pop hanging out with a the Beautiful Brooke Shields. I didn’t know him, I only know what I was shown, whatever unfolded in front of the camera is all I got to see. And frankly, it’s all a majority of us knew. If he was cruising around with Brooke Shields we assumed that the two were sleeping together, If saw him with Sophia Loren we assumed it was a photo op, If we saw him with Cher we assumed that Cher was molesting Michael. All kidding aside, this sound but society we live can snap one picture of something and draw a completely wrong conclusion. It’s not fair, but it is the world in which Michael Jackson resided.
We also got to watch the entire pedophile thing unfold, and my guess is we’ll never be certain of what happened, after all there were no pictures taken of that. But it did give me the shakes, seriously! He may have never touched a child, but the stuff that came out as truth during that time in his life was certainly… to say the least uncomfortable to here and probably more so to live through. The above clip shows Whoppie Goldberg defending her Friend Michael Jackson, and she actually goes so far as to say that she would leave her children with him. But here’s the thing, we don’t know what happened, all we know is that a court of law acquitted him and that is supposed to set you free. Just ask OJ Simpson - I know that’s what your thinking, and you may not be wrong - but then again you may be spot on. But given the subject matter and what the ramification are, I certainly hope the courts got this one right.

I think as we were watching the whole child molestation thing unfold we all forgot some of Jackson’s Philanthropic work, and yes they were mainly to benefit children. Hospitals, disadvantaged, hungry, what ever it was he gave back to the charities he felt needed his help. Perhaps the biggest of them all
the USA to Africa Charity, also known as WE ARE THE WORLD

If you take the time to watch this you will be reminded of the work it must have taken to put all of those voices and Steve Perry’s hair!
Look, I didn’t write this so as to build a defense for Michael Jackson. I didn’t, but as the media has been driving this thing into the ground I was reminded of everything he did and yes that includes the good and the bad. But in the end it doesn’t matter what you think, it’s his family - they are the ones that are left behind. Both my parents told, me that it never mattered to them what I did, I could be a garbage man, it didn’t matter - their love for me would never waver and would always be without condition. I remember asking them, “what if I murdered someone? You probably wouldn’t love me then.” They told me, that they wouldn’t like it that I murdered someone, and they would be disappointed but I was their son and they would always love me. I saw that when Jackson’s daughter Paris proclaimed her love for her father - it didn’t matter to her what we saw and how we reacted to it because at the end of the day, it was her father. What the hell is up with that?
