Are we actually getting closer to Health Care..? Hmmmm Maybe.
As far as I can tell Joe Lieberman is the anti-Christ – or at the very least a hemorrhoid (which equals a walking talking pain in the ass). Nine years ago this guy was entrenched in the Democratic party to the point he was tapped for the Vice Presidential candidate and now — he’s, dare I say, a Maverick! Well maybe calling him a Maverick isn’t correct maybe it’s more like a Poo Sniffing moron that pees himself to stay warm.
The one thing we know about Joe Lieberman is that he carved out a name as being the first VP candidate of Jewish decent – and for me that’s the last thing I actually like about him. Now mind you I don’t really tow a particular party line here (even though I agree more with the left than the right). I think everyone in the senate should declare themselves an independent and vote with their constituency instead of their personal checking accounts (it’s been working for Bernie Sanders since day day – like him or not). But it’s politics and politics have always gone to the highest bidder. It’s literally like Lieberman promised the fine people of CT that he would be the biggest asshat on the senate floor, he would ignore what a majority of the people wanted and just stand there and break balls. Well if he’d actually come right out there and said all of that I would and could have a little respect for him – but he didn’t, no – instead he just blathers on about filibustering health care for the sake of getting it right (and trust me, at this point with 1,990 pages in the document – we aren’t going to get it right on the first pass).
Now for all intensive purposes Lieberman has aligned himself with the Republican party – again I don’t take issue with that, if I did that would make me un-American (what ever that means). But what I resent is this him hanging onto this “independent” moniker that basically puts him up for the highest bidder. Joe Lieberman has the interests of the insurance companies at heart and that’s the bottom line. Maybe he still has Presidential aspirations and he feels that the insurance industry will give him the cash he needs to get elected – or maybe he’s just seeking a little revenge:
There’s no question that what we have in place right now doesn’t work. There’s no questioning that what ever they pass (should it pass) will need a major amount of tweaking and time moves on. But this thing needs to get passed so we can begin to work on it. There’s no rush for me – I have great health care coverage through my employer but what about those that have become part of the 10.2 percent of unemployed? What happens to them in this current economy, where do they go? Well as the plan is laid out now they’d still be screwed because it’s going to take years before it’s instituted.
But with guys like Joe Lieberman openly threatening to single handedly take down health care reform on some misguided notion that he’s protecting the American people… well I gotta believe that something can be done to stop him – somebody should maybe make him an offer he can’t refuse – just sayin’.
What the hell is up with that?
